2026 Merida Big Trail 500 – Hardcore Hardtail, Built for Fun
The 2026 Merida Big Trail 500 – Mokka (Brown) is the next evolution of the UK-born hardcore hardtail that redefined what a trail bike should be. With its progressive trail geometry, long travel RockShox 140mm air fork, and a tough yet lightweight aluminium frame, it’s designed for riders who want maximum fun without the complication of rear suspension.
Developed with input from UK dealers and riders, the Big Trail’s geometry combines a steep 76.5° seat angle for efficient climbing with a slack 64° head angle for stability on steep, technical descents. Thanks to Agilometer sizing, riders can pick a shorter size for agility or go longer for speed and stability – tailoring the bike to their riding style.
Equipped with a Shimano CUES 1x10 drivetrain, the Big Trail 500 delivers reliable shifting across a wide 11–48T cassette. SRAM DB4 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes with 200/180mm rotors provide serious stopping power, while a long-travel dropper post keeps you in control on technical terrain.
Rolling on 29” Boost-standard wheels with aggressive Maxxis Minion DHF 2.5” front and Dissector 2.4” rear tyres, this bike has grip and precision dialled. Add in tubeless-ready rims and a lightweight finishing kit, and you’ve got a hardtail that’s just as happy smashing bike parks as it is powering up climbs.
